AboutVermont Capital Partners, LP (“VCP”) is a joint venture between Brook Venture Partners (www.brookventure.com) and the Vermont Economic Development Authority ("VEDA") (www.veda.org). VCP was established to facilitate the flow of capital to Vermont-based companies and is a Limited Partner of Brook Venture Fund II.
The mission of VCP is to invest capital in high-growth, expansion-stage companies, primarily within the Information Technology and Medical Technology fields. The objective is to realize venture level returns for our investors and the shareholders of each portfolio company by helping the company achieve its fullest potential.
Brook Venture Partners manages Brook Venture Fund II, L.P., which is licensed by the Small Business Administration to operate as a Small Business Investment Corp. This enables the Fund to access low cost capital from the SBA.
We believe that a good company begins with good management. Products and markets are secondary, albeit very important. We practice a high degree of oversight, not heavy handed, but consisting of frequent interaction and monitoring, and, where necessary, stepping in to help.
